People are obsessed with their phones but I don’t think I am one of them. Time should be spent with friends and family not concentrated on a phone or who’s calling. It’s becoming ridiculous how important cell phones are. In a sense they’re good, they make life easier and one button away from talking to someone, but also they can have disadvantages. As a generation this is how we were brought up, I received my cell phone in seventh grade. I know for sure my parents never had a cell phone or any of this new technology and they turned out just fine. When cell phones are used incorrectly lives can be lost, like when driving. Driving you shouldn’t have any distractions, if it’s that important pull over and make a call or text; you should never risk your life or others on the road. I’m not a big fan of talking on the phone, unless it’s something important or a family member, but otherwise I text. I love texting! It’s a great invention. Why be on the phone when you can just send out a quick text? Landlines are hardly used anymore, I know in my house, if the house phone rings I won’t answer it, if it’s someone for me I know they will call my cell. Rarely is my house phone busy, only if my mom is talking to a friend. Life without a cell phone, or any way of communicating would be hard to get used to, but I think I’d be fine. People didn’t have phones for how many years, and they lived a good life. Maybe things wouldn’t be as easy but we would manage. I hate when people say “I’d die without my phone.” If you’re that attached to your cell phone it’s pathetic. Time shouldn’t be wasted on silly things like that. Life is valuable and people don’t tend to realize that. I live each day to the fullest with or without a cell phone I would be happy. I think we would all be more social, and concentrated on other things. Like in school students would pay more attention to what’s going on in the classroom, and not be concerned with people on the other end of a text. We’d be more willing to interact with kids we don’t know. Having a phone you usually talk to people you feel comfortable with, but without one there’s more of a chance you’ll learn more about someone new.
