drivers
Drivers come in all shapes and sizes; you have old drivers, young drivers, “soccer moms”, and new drivers, but in any situation I wouldn’t consider someone a “good” driver. Driving is a very serious thing, you’re in control of a large object which in worst case scenario could hurt the driver or others. Some people find it a joke when driving but I don’t. I love driving don’t get me wrong and I think its really fun to open my sun roof and blast my Miley Cyrus cd, but you still have to be cautious to what’s going on around you. I notice that some people drive really slow while others are speeding by in a rush to get somewhere. Also looking at the way a person sits in the car ca tell you how comfortable they are. Older people are really close to the steering wheel, when some teens are lounged all the way back hardly seeing over the steering wheel. I’ve only been driving for a short amount of time, not even a year yet, so I haven’t seen too many crazy things. Mostly just people getting cut off, or swerving in the lane, nothing too extravagant. I must say that some motorcyclists know how to really put themselves in danger, just because they are so petite doesn’t give them the right to weave in and out of traffic. They should be more careful especially because if they do get into an accident chances are they’re more at risk then the other vehicle. I would agree that the way people drive does reflect their personality. Depending on who’s in the car, some personalities can change. Like if a boy is trying to impress a girl he might be willing to drive fast or slower. Or if there are kids in the car, or a parent, I know I drive more cautious. Yes, I have been involved in an accident only once, my freshman year. It was a stupid choice getting into the car with an older boy and five other kids. So there were six of us in the car, which the driver had only his provisional license, and we were blasting music, pretty late at night having a good time. Then we went onto the road next to oh what a bagel, Eugene Fiery, thinking it was cool, he started “drifting” which ended up in us hitting two trees, spinning, and totaling his car. Thank god no one got seriously hurt, because none of us had on seat belts. The boy next to me held onto me so tight I couldn’t thank him enough! That was a memory I’ll never forget and I have learned a lot from it. If I never get into an accident or pulled over I will be content in my driving, my mom is a pretty good driver, might be on the slow side, but there’s never a rush. I always ask my passengers if there is anything I can work on when I drive, but the only thing I get in response is how I turn my head “too far” to switch lanes, which I don’t think is possible, you can never be too sure.
